Sex Therapy

What is sex therapy? Simply put, sex therapy is just therapy… with a specific focus (and clinician training) on topics of sex, gender, sexuality, relationship structures, kinks/fetishes/BDSM, and more. Sex therapy can be standalone, where your sex therapist is also your day-to-day therapist, or it can be in addition to your day-to-day therapist to work on goals that are separate from your other therapy or are areas in which your existing therapist does not have sufficient comfort or training.
I provide sex therapy from a client-centered, non-carceral, and relational lens. Let’s break that down! Client-centered: I believe you are the expert in your own life and that change comes from identifying and living in alignment with your values. Non-carceral: I understand that the profession of social work is deeply rooted in white saviorism, settler colonialism, racism, and other forms of harm. I therefore work to provide resources, support, and conversations that are outside of or alternatives to that history of harm and current institutions that perpetuate similar harm. Relational: I believe each of us is made up of our relationships, whether they are platonic, romantic, familial, or our relationships to ourselves. I work with you to explore the meaning of those relationships and the ways in which you want to exist within them.
My specialties include kinks and fetishes of all kinds, with a specific focus on ageplay and AB/DL; gender exploration, expression, and identity; sexual and pleasure exploration; understanding sexuality with or without labels; de-constructing familial, faith, or societal messages about sex, sexuality, or gender; navigating multiple or different relationship structures; and building connection within gender, sexuality, or relationship structure communities.
